"The River Delta community will be celebrating the reopening of the Courtland Library tomorrow (Saturday, June 27), from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., at 170 Primasing Avenue, Courtland. The library has been closed since April 4 for expansion and remodeling.
The branch now has two-thirds more floor space, double the amount of public-access computers, a separate children’s and teen area, more space to display new books and materials, new furniture that can be moved to create program space, new exterior paint, and a new parking area.
Tomorrow’s reopening festivities will begin with Blanca Rose, who will display her face-painting and balloon-artistry skills, starting at 12:30 p.m. Formal remarks will begin at 1 p.m., with a ribbon-cutting ceremony slated at 1:30 p.m. Free refreshments will be served immediately following the ribbon cutting, provided by the Friends of Courtland Library.
The New Holland Combine Band will be the featured musical entertainment from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sally Sweeny, Courtland Library supervisor, will present a storytime for kids at 2:45 p.m., with a children’s craft-making program from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Courtland Library staff will be also celebrating the library branch’s 100- year anniversary."
